Opinion: Okay, I admit it: I slacked and got this out of a monologue book. 'I'm afraid to sleep because I'm afraid to dream.'>ДЇrom: Who Will Carry the Word? (Play) By: Charlotte Delbo Character: Mounette Genre: Drama Age Range: Late teens This also happens to be the first male monologue on this site. (BTW, a great line I cut out to make it work as a monologue: Henry: But you got it all wrong, Bendrix- Bendrix: I usually do. My Short (I'm sparing you! Opinion): WHY DID THEY CUT THIS OUT?! *G* It's absolutely brilliant. Opinion: I read this book within a day. oh, go read the monologue already! *G*ДЇrom: The End of the Affair (Novel) By: Grahame Greene Character: Sarah Miles Genre: Drama Age Range: 30's Brilliant work on study of human personalities and weaknesses. My Short (I'm sparing you!) Opinion: As Good as it Gets sticks out as my only favourite modern-day film. Opinion: You didn't think I'd EVER get to a lighter piece, did you? *G* But this is absolutely brilliant. My Short (I'm sparing you!) Opinion: Ophelia is quite possibly my favourite Shakespearean character (yeah, I love the insane ones.*g*) Anyway, this is absolutely brilliant, and my favourite scene in Hamlet (BTW-Obviously, I edited out Laertes and the King and Queen's parts, but it works as a monologue.)ДЇrom: A Midsummer Night's Dream (Play) By: William Shakespeare Character: Helena Genre: Romance Age Range: Late teens to 20's IMO, anyway.ДЇrom: Hamlet (Play) By: William Shakespeare (THE MAN! -) ) Character: Ophelia Genre: Drama Age Range: Can go between mid-teens to early-twenties (I'll stop with my exact estimates!) Here is, quite possibly, the best monologue in Death of a Salesman. My short (I'm sparing you!) Opinion: Okay, so 'for now' wasn't very long. for now!ДЇrom: Death of a Salesman (Play) By: Arthur Miller Character: Linda Loman Genre/Age Range: See above every line they have, but I brought it down to just this monologue. My Short (I'm sparing you!) Opinion: Again, it's brilliant! I just love this character in general. it'd only be, what, 8 hours long? Hey, I'D BE THERE! *G*ДЇrom: Death of a Salesman (Play) By: Arthur Miller Character: Linda Loman Genre: Drama Age Range: Looks between 40 to 59 (I've estimated about 53, 10 years younger than Willy. They really should put an unabridged-adaptation-of-novel play together. My Short (I'm sparing you!) Opinion: This is brilliant, too. *G*ДЇrom: Les Miserables (Novel) By: Victor Hugo Character: Eponine Thenardier Genre: Drama Age Range: Looks from mid-to-late-teens (my estimation is 16, again, I could be wrong. My Short (I'm sparing you! Opinion: I'm still trying to decide if this works as a monologue or not, but it's BRILLIANT, so it's here. My Short (I'm sparing you!) Opinion: My absolute favourite up here! Each and every one of these could spoil the plot in some way. I edited out some lines of other characters to make some work as monologues. so they follow (more are coming soon, believe me.! *G*).
